A. Pierre Sherrill II, also fondly referred to as Tonee, considers himself an “agent of positive change.” And his favorite place to make that change is on a college campus. With over ten years of experience working with college students, Tonee’s passion to see students engage with their college experience has charted an exciting journey of constant learning, fun and fulfillment. Tonee is a proud two-time alumnus of California State University, Northridge. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree which focused on the cultures of two underrepresented communities (the Deaf & African American communities) and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. He most recently obtained his Doctorate in Education from San Diego State University, where he is studied the impact of race on Black men’s engagement with campus authority figures. Tonee currently serves as the Executive Director of Associated Students at San Francisco State University, where provides strategic direction of a student led non-profit organization. In this role, he gets to serve some of the most vulnerable populations through programs housed in the Cesar Chavez Student Center; programs like the Women’s Center, Richard Oaks Multicultural Center, the Queer Resource Center and Project Rebound (for former incarcerated students).
