Dr. Pearline Sturdivant
Dr. Pearline Sturdivant (born Pearline Allen) is a committed individual who believes in building the lives of others. As the wife of an United States Army veteran and mother of an United States Navy veteran, Pearline learned best how to serve those who serves others. She is also the proud mother of a recent law school graduate from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law (2020). She is committed to her family. She is also a dedicated community member. She is an innovative individual who self-published a student driven work titled “ITZAYED: The Student Interest Model (The Manual)” and two spoken work poetry books. Pearline holds a Bachelor of Business from Temple University’s Fox School of Business (Human Resources Administration) with a “People First Certificate” (Mandated course work/Managing People at Work, Power, Influence and Negotiation, and Communication in Organization: Fox School of Business). Pearline also holds dual Masters’ degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Lincoln University and a doctorate degree from Temple University’s College of Education and Human Development with a focus in Educational Leadership. Her published dissertation is titled “The Ethical Decision-Making Practices of K-12 Administrators in a Urban Setting.”
For over 20 years Pearline has been committed to helping underprivileged and at-risk youth. From 1995-2004 Pearline worked diligently at Woods Services where she gained first hand-knowledge of the blight of behavioral challenged youth while serving in the capacities as a client care worker, night supervisor, and program specialist. After leaving Woods Services she also served diligently as an Assistant Director for Resources for Human Development. When called from social services into the educational arena, Pearline found her true passion in serving both students and families in the School District of Philadelphia. Pearline also serves the adult learners at Temple University’s WELL program. For the past 8 years she served as a volunteer, instructor, and as a current part-time Instructional Specialist. Pearline also served homeless families. She worked at the Eliza Shirley House under the auspices of the Salvation Army in Philadelphia, PA. Pearline’s compassion for others comes from her life experiences and her dedication to serving in various systems in the City of Philadelphia. Pearline has also served in various volunteer capacities and affiliated with various organizations over the years. The volunteer capacities and affiliations has afforded her the opportunity to meet wonderful people throughout Philadelphia and to give back to the communities who have given much to her.
In addition to her service as an educator and volunteer, Pearline is currently the CEO for Sturdivant & Sturdivant, LLC (https:sturdivantandsturdivant.weebly.com) which she founded in
2013. Sturdivant & Sturdivant, LLC’s mission is to empower, equip, and motivate youth and young adults to be leaders in their homes, schools, communities, and future places of employment. Pearline contributes who she is today because of her life of resiliency. Pearline is also a motivational speaker who enjoys speaking about subject matters that uplift and motivate others. During her speaking engagements, Pearline enlightens her audience concerning her life of resiliency speaking about topics concerning what she has titled “The Under the Bed Ideology” and how to be an effective M.E.N.T.O.R. After every situation she had to endure, Pearline realized that the true essence of life is the ability to bounce back and teach others about resiliency. In addition, she gives insight concerning how pertinent it is to strive beyond one’s acquired perspective.
