Dr. Jamie Eaddy


Dr. Jamie Eaddy


Rev. Dr. Jamie Eaddy is the founder and CEO of Thoughtful Transitions and helps
you remember yourself whole. She is uniquely gifted to journey with people through
grief, loss, and transitions from first to last breaths.

Dr. Eaddy is deeply committed to challenging death-dealing systems and creating
sacred spaces for exploring our humanity, mortality, faith, and healing. She loves
teaching, preaching, and learning and sees every encounter as an opportunity for
growth. She is an adjunct professor at the Lancaster Theological Seminary, Missio
Seminary, Eastern University, and the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. She
also teaches new doulas and grief companions through her organization, Thoughtful
Transitions, LLC.

She is a Princeton University Black Theology and Leadership Institute Fellow. She
received her Master of Divinity from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology
at Virginia Union University. She earned her Doctor of Ministry from the Colgate
Rochester Crozer Divinity School. She is an activist, healer, clinically trained
chaplain, certified trauma professional, certified death doula, and a certified
thanatologist through The Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).

Affectionately known as Dr. J, she believes in theology and therapy, taking naps, and
that all Black Lives Matter. She loves art, traveling, 90’s hip-hop, 80’s Gospel, poetry,
pink lipstick, solitude, laughter, Rizpah, making body butter, being near water, and
spending time with good friends. She is a well-sought-after speaker and the author
of Getting Naked to Get Free. She is the host of “The Ratchet Grief ProjectTM” and
married to Rev. Dr. Michael D. Chism.
